wiring question?

I'm trying to install a remote starter for a 2005 pathfinder. I'm stuck at one point where it tells me to locate a wire that is "RED/WHITE to GRAY (-)" located in the BCM pin #7. I pretty sure I know where the BCM is, but with about 50 wires going into it, how do i know which one pin # 7 is? Also, should I be looking for a red & white wire or a gray one? Thanks in advance for the help.

No input specific to your question other than to say I installed a remote starter in my '92 last fall and found this website to be a HUGE help....

http://www.the12volt.com/default.asp?

I suggest you sign onto these forums and ask all the questions you have. These guys are GREAT as well and will more than likely have the answers for you. You can also get wire colour/location charts for your specific vehicle here. You'll find most of the remote starter threads under the "Car Security" forum...

Take a look and good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

You do relize that the truck will not run unless one of the three orginal (or others the dealer added) keys are with-in 6" of the ignition (RFID). Or a RFID "emulator" that was programmed by the dealer.

I would imagine there would be some way of bypassing this feature for a remote starter, not???

Hence the "RFID "emulator" that was programmed by the dealer".

It wouldnt be much of a theft deterrent if it could be bypassed easily. Though he could tape the vallet key near the ignition under the plastic. That however will bypass the security system. So if the vehicle is stolen the insurance company may inventory your keys (if they are smart). LOL
