2001 Pathfinder Hesitation and noise at start

I have a 2001 Pathfinder with a slight hesitation from a dead stop when the car is warm. There is a noise that sounds like it is coming from the rear wheels. Not so noticable when the car is cold. Shifts fine in other gears. I just purchased the Pathfinder so I do not know how long this has been going on.

Thanks for any imput.

did you have the vehicle inspected before you bought it? could you contact the previous owner to see if they had it diagnosed? hows the tranny fluid look? is it brown or smell burnt? on the hesitation, do you feel a shudder at all or is it like a dead spot? do you know when the last time it had a tune up? fresh plugs, filters and timing check would be an initial start.

It was the drive shaft. One bolt was missing and the other three were loose. I feel like an idiot. I should have checked it better.

you may want to replace the u-joint, being loose it may have been damaged.
