'01 pathy tire pressure

calls for 26 lbs. this seems awfully low & may contribute to lower gas mileage.
anybody running with higher pressure? would it affect handling?

I have run 30-35 psi for 2 years now. The ride is a little firmer and it handles a little better. The only issue I have is the center of the tires is wearing faster than the edges.

I'm usually at at least 35 psi. No problems at all.
