I just installed a new stereo, I bought the correct harness which has the 94' stereo harness. I dont have any other problems except nothing will come out of the speakers and I know its not my settings on my CD player. I believe and have read on other forums that it could be the amplifiers to the speakers. Everything is stock except the cd reciever. Has anyone had the same problem? What do I do to fix it? Any help would be great!

its a mos-fet power amp, and it must be built in
i hooked up my new deck with the new harness, it lights up and everything, but no sound comes up. i hooked up the harness +' and -'s to the same 1's on the connector into the unit. just to make sure tho, the wire WITH the stripe is negative rite?

I just put a new cd player in my 92SE. I notice the facory amp and wiring was a headach.!!
Ok this might be confusing!
If you want to use the factory amp (I wouldn't suggest it if your cd player is as nice as speedmonkey or anynew sterio). There is a amp out (blue-from your sterio) wire that need to be hooked up to your factory amp(it powers on the amp and can't remmember the color of wire - from the truck. sorry!). Once that is hooked up, and 2 front speakers are hooked up - all 4 speakers should be working. The factory amp takes 2 speakers in and powers up all 4 speakers - bad sound!!!
I hooked up the Amp and was not happy with the sound. I checked the speakers, they were fine!! so I disconnected the amp, Searched and found 2 wires that goes to the front speakers and for the rears - they are connected to the amp.. So I ran 2 new wires from the rear speakers to the sterio. Good sound!!
If you have any questions or confused, I will do my best!
ok, so i do have a blue wire leading out of the deck, and its labeled as
"to the remote lead of other equipment or automatic antenna if any" I wasnt sure where to connect this 1 since it seems it wouldn't apply to me.
speedmonkey,
I wouldn't bother with the blue wire, just run 2 new wires from your rear speakers to your deck and find the 2 front speakers. Might take a little more time to get done but you will have better sound.
First of all does anyone know where on a 95 pathfinder with the 94' stereo system, is the amp located?....I will just disconnect the wires going into the amp and rewire them to the wires going out. Wouldnt that work?
By the way, do any of you folks happen to have a pinout of the stock connector that goes to the stereo? I have a '90 Pathfinder with a CD deck that I will need to remove, and I'm hoping I don't have to trace back all the wiring to figure out which one is which.
I am having some trouble with my 94, has an eight speaker system, I assume it also has an external amp because my kenwood I just put in sounds louder than it has before. Anyways, these speakers can handle no bass whatsoever, should I bypass the amp(and if so, how?) or would it be a huge pain to put capacitors/bass blockers on the small tweeters?
2nd problem being that both the aftermarket radio that came with it and the one I just installed have horrible radio reception. Anything I can do about this?
