05' Path. Exhaust System Question

Just checking to see if anyone knows whether theres a difference between a 2WD and 4WD, when it comes to exhaust? I see Gibson makes one for 4WD, but heck if I know if the pipes are curved exactly the same. So any info would be helpful. Thanks everyone.

what's the part# from Gibson for this exhaust?
I see they have one for the Frontier's? do anyone know if that exhaust kit will work on Pathfinders?
I can't say without true certainty.
is that the pipe in the front must be different due to it being a 4WD. it might curve or hang lower to allow clearance.
other than that, you'll probably need someone who has done a true comparison.
good luck.

Ok, I was diggin some more through Gibson's website an found two different p/n's for 2005 Pathfinders:

Part Number: 12210- is for alum. exhaust pipes
Part Number: 612210- is for stainless exhaust pipes

One thing that I also ran into was was this :

2005 Nissan Pathfinder 4.0L-V6 2/4wd 4 Dr

Maybe a 2WD and 4WD exhaust is the same, go figure.

Arrow how much?

I guess I can always call Gibson, but before I do.
Does anyone know how much the Gibson exhaust system will cost for our Pathfinder?
that's a nice setup.
and does anyone know if the exhaust tip is straight out like stock or out the side behind the wheel?
I'm thinking that this exhaust will have a deep sound like I hear on other trucks.

I have the stainless steel Gibson exhaust on my '05 Pathfinder (Part# 612210)... I got it on the internet for about $440 including shipping... The pipe (2 1/2") exits straight out the back like the OEM and comes with a stainless tip (3")... This is a cat-back system... I also had Gibsons on my '01 Xterra & Frontier... Easy install... Not much difference in sound... Works good with the aFe intake... I'll have pictures soon.........Triffid

The Gibson for the frontier includes a new Y pipe. Its interesting that the Gibson for the PF is only cat back. Also, the frontier system exits out the side. Go figure?

Did you have an option to buy it with the Y-pipe?

Waiting for your pics.

Maybe I'm confusing you... The system comes with the "Y" pipe, just like the Frontier except it exits straight out the back like the stock Nissan system... I added a stainless clamp to reconnect the Nissan ground strap... The system does not have the damper, or heat shields like the OEM.............Triffid

Guess what? I just went and looked at OEM. Being familiar with GM I assumed there was one cat that was located after the Y-pipe. However the PF has 2 cats before the y-pipe. So it really is a full "cat-back" like you indicated. My error.

Now I understand. Very good idea with the stainless clamp
