I have just completed installation of the new aFe intake kit on my 2005 Frontier V-6; it is the same kit that fits the Pathfinder. To see a complete review, with pics and dyno tests, click here: Review of aFe Intake Kit

WORTH THE MONEY? Depends on how fast you want to go. $220 isn't cheap, but it's not a bad price to pay for a 0.2 second improvement in the 0-60 sprint. Looks like aFe has done a great job with this one!
It would take more than that to get me to part with $220. I don't imagine it does anything for low rpm. What about filtration? I'll stick with the factory setup.
But if you like it, OK. Nice web page and instructions.

I have an old T-shirt that says, "motorcycles. If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand." Same principle.

Actually, a number of vendors carry this kit, including an eBay seller. I have had absolutely no problems with the intake and still consider it a good addition. Gas mileage has increased by 0.8 mpg in the 6 tanks since installation.

I saw your review when you posted in the Frontier section. Great write up. Made me go out and order one and I love it. I have noticed a slight MPG increase too.

Glad it's working for you. Looks like Volant is finally coming out with a kit also and it looks like a well-designed piece. I'll be interested in seeing if someone can come up with an independent test on it.

this is for those of you that have installed the aFe intake system.
I just intalled mine on my 05 Pathfinder.
everything is fine with the install, but maybe I was rushing or wasn't paying attention when pulling things apart.
where does the rubber hose connect to? if you know which hose I am referring to.
sorry, I couldnt be more specific, but I connected everything else which is the MAF plug. I ended up a lose black hose. not sure if it popped out of somewhere else.
I will examine it more closely as I ran out of time and wasn't able to go back step by step.
if someone knows what I am talking about, please advise!
thanks all.

I think the hose you are referring to is the front axle breather hose... it was orig. attached to the air box, just to hold it in place... I just tye-raped it to another hose so it wouldn't move around... Hope this helps.............Triffid
so does it actually connect to somewhere?
or is it an open end hose?
I have to wait till day time to re-examine where that hose goes and where on the original air box it was connected to.
yes, if I must, I will use some wire ties to secure it place.
I want to make sure it belongs somewhere.
also, after installing the aFe CAI, do I have to reset anything?
I have read from others about resetting the ecu(?).
otherwise, I prefer not to do and leave it as is.
thanks.

The curved end was attached to the back of the air box (side toward the ABS manifold). The curved end is opened and not plugged into anything... It is only a breather... Just tie it to something to keep it from flopping around......Triffid
