fuel mileage on 05' pathfinder 4x2

am in the market for a pathfinder. Been a honda and toyota guy all my life, will be my first nissan. Wife and I are VERY interested in the 4x2 XE model, lots of room for us and our two children. I am curious how close the fuel economy stays as to the sticker on the window? All things being considered equal, does it do what is advertised? more? less?

thanks for your input.

cool, that is what I was curious about. the wife is gonna be driving it back and forth to work mainly, and then will be used on road trips. she works 5miles from the house. Thought about putting a K&N in it to help a bit.

I have a 05 Xterra. My brother in law has an 05 Pathfinder. We both get 19-20 mpg combined. I get over 20 on the road and 18 or so around town. Mine is a 4x4. I had a 4x2 on extended loan from the dealer while I was waiting for mine to come in and it got the same mileage as my 4x4.

The K&N won't help mileage. It helps horsepower starting at about 2500 rpm. Since 70 mph on mine is about 2000 rpm, it won't do much. It will help performance in high rpm, not much else. Save your money, check your tire pressures regularly and watch driving habits will only help the mileage situation.
