I have a '91 Pathfinder 4x4 and the (I don't know the exact name of the valve) heater valve is stuck open; it blows nothing but heat no matter what is set on the climate control. Does anyone know what the most common cause is? My mechanic said it could be a lot of things that are causing it to stay open, but I didn't know if anyone else has had this happen and if there's something simple I might can try. Thanks.

As far as I know, there's no "heater valve" on any Pathfinder to date. The heat or cold is controlled by small plastic doors inside the dash that open or shut the heater core or the AC evaporator to the fan. It may be as simple as a linkage needing some grease or being temporarily hung up somewhere inside the dash.
