93 gas or 87 in path

i know the manual says to put premium gas 93 in the pathfinder but the dealer where i bought my used 02 path said that putting 93 in the truck is a waste of money and that u can put 87 all the time with no problems , i had a maxima b4 this truck n i know the manual for the max said to put 93 n if i ever put anything besides 93 it would run bad, but the dealer said once ur truck gets used to 87 its no problem and u can do so all the time, does anyone have an opinion on this on wat grade of gas i should use , either 87,89, or 93 thanks

I have a 05 Pathy and it runs fine on 87 regular gas. According to my manual, it stated that 87 is the minimum octane you should put in the truck, but for maximum performance, 91 is recommended.

If you don't hear any pings or knocking when accelerating hard or towing a trailer uphill, 87 should be fine.

Well you can run 87 but do your self and your engine a favor and run 93 all the time. If you every have to tear the engine down you will see the gum that 87 leaves in the intake. The injectors will not need to be cleaned as often either. You can run what you want but for me i run 93 all the time. And sometimes i get a half tank of 100.

I was wondering the same thing about the octane. I had a 2k2 Spec-V before this that had a 6-speed and the 2.5 from the Alty. The manual said to use 91, but I never did...always used 87 w/ no issues. It never pinged of mis-fired. I just got the Pathy 4 days ago and 2.50/gallon is rough!! Figured I'd dosome research before trying 87. If it knocks, then I know never to use it again

I've always used 87 in mine.. 93 is way too expensive, and the truck runs fine on 87..

The octane rating has nothing to do with gum or injector clogs. Though what you get from a particular gas station or even which grade at a particular station may.

1.91 $ per liter. damn! i think i am in trouble with pathfinder.

80 liters x 1.91 =~152 USD

In most other parts of the world public transportation is a viable alternative. In the USofA there are few areas that can make that claim. I would be willing to bet most countries use gasoline tax to support the trains and buses. Types that try that here tend to get voted out of office.
