service lights turn on and off with...

This is strange as hell, I hope you can help me. Friday my battery, brake and oil temp lights along with my stereo playing sound turned off and on. Now the service lights go on when I am driving but go off after I hit the breaks and come to a stop. What does this sound like.

it sounds like a pain in the ass!

Just kidding, it sounds like a short, or a bad ground connection. Something is loose and rattling around, a harness connector is partially apart, or it could be a piece of something rolling around on a circuit board.

I would look first at any accessible wiring harnesses and ground straps/wires and make sure everything is connected like it should be.

Thank you, I'll check that tonight.

Now it's doing something wierder.
This morning the lights didn't come on until after about 5 minutes. My stereo sound cut out as well but not the power, I can see it's still playing the CD, when I let go of the gas the sounds starts again, it cuts out when I hit the gas again.
When I got to work I smelt a bad smell and coming from the muffler was a little black smoke like it is burning too much fuel. Could an 02 sensor be bad?

Yes. So could many other sensors. Get the OBDII scanned and see what codes it reports.

That'd be your alternator dying on you. Have an auto parts shop check it for you, 99% of stores do it free.
