I bought my wife an 05 Pathfinder SE about a month ago and over all I am pleased but have a few complaints/questions. It is our first SUV and first Nissan.
The steering seems very slopping and too sensitive. When I hit a bump the steering wheel pulls hard one way or the other. Took it to the dealer and they said it was within specifications and nothing wrong. Is this typical with the Pathfinders having very sensitive steering and pulls when you hit a small bump??
The AC does not blow ice cold. It has the dual climate control and it is set on 60 degrees and still does not blow ice cold even after driving it for awhile. I have to keep the fan on 3 or 4 all the time to keep cool. I have a 5 year old pickup that has colder AC then the new pathfinder. Took it to the dealer and they checked the charge and it was fine. Being my first Nissan, I don't know how their ACs perform. Anybody else have this problem??
Last question, I had to use the spare tire already and when I raised it back up, it went more towards the drivers side and is not center from left to right. I swear that it was centered before I put it down. So is the spare tire centered from left to right in the rear??

Brandon, I have not noticed my steering being too sloppy or sensitive. I have had trucks and SUV's exclusively for the last few years so maybe I am used to a more trucklike feel than you are. My AC blows cold as cold can be. I have to turn it up occasoinally because it is too cold even on the 100 degree days we had recently. I cannot look right now, but I am pretty sure my spare is offset toward the drivers side too.
I would go back to the dealer and drive a couple other pathfinders just like yours to see about the steering and take someone from the dealer out while you run the AC in yours and another one to compare. Maybe if they see it for themselves they will believe it.
Good Luck.

i know what you mean with the sensitive steering, over bumps it feels like you have no control of the steering wheel, its going to the left/right. I guess thats normal for the pathfinder.
I agree with the AC too, even though i dont have the dual climate, it doesnt seem to blow ice cold air, its kinda warmish cold air.
Maybe my problem with the steering is I am not used to the fancy feature:
"Engine speed-sensitive power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering". I drive it on the weekends so I don't get a chance to get used to how it feels.
I know what rack-and pinion means but what does "Engine speed-sensitive power-assisted" mean??
I am going to buy a thermometer and check the temp of the AC and see if it matches the settings.
My A/C blows super cold...especially in the recent heat in DC this summer. You should take it to the dealer to top it off and pull out any air from the system.
Or it could also be the air mix motor not closing off the hot air from flowing from the heater core.....

1) Yes, my Pathy also does that.... it seems it doesn't have a very tight steering and I can live with it because my expectation of a truck is not that high.
2) My A/C is very cool; I keep it in 22c (71.6F) and it is still very cool when the outside temp is over 90F.
3) I found that out about a month after I bought the Pathy..... well, that is too bad because we cannot do anything about it. Nissan should put the spare tire in the middle.....
