Question There's a bird in my engine

I have a 97 Pathfinder with 89K miles on her, and acouple of weeks ago started this chirping sound from the engine. thought it to be the belts. Checked them, an all seems fine. I read that the A/C comp idler pulley has this problem on 96-00's. Well it's been replaced and the sound is still there. I can't really tell where it's comming from I've tried listening really close to pin pointe but with no luck. any help or thoughts would be much appreacited. Thanks

It's probably a belt, most likely the fan belt. The belts and pulleys can get glazed and then slip causing the chirp. Try some belt dressing (available at auto stores).

try holding a stick(broomstick e.g.)against the compressor as well as the alternator, put your ear on the stick and maybe you can discover the source of the noise.
