Fucking Teflon pans. They suck ass. A few days ago I was cooking a nice piece of juicy ham and what do you know, the teflon shit came right up. That is not my idea of good seasoning so I had to throw the shit away and I had a cigerette for dinner instead of this fine meat. Today I was making beef and the shit came up too. I think Teflon should be illegal and all pans should be made of stainless.

I've had expensive teflon and they've done the same thing, stick to what works IMO.
I have a cast iron skillet that sees heavy duties in my kitchen, even heat, easy cleaning, etc., but I have stainless steel pots and pans too.
I don't recommend copper, you can't cook acidic foods in them (like, oh, I don't know, tomatoes!), it looks good as decoration, but that'd be all I'd use it for. And aluminum, same thing, plus aluminum loses heat too quickly for me. Plus some people freak out about alumium injestion, that it causes Parkinson, you won't get it from deodorant or pans, or canned soda, but some people do freak out.
I HATE when my dad stays awake to b!tch at me coming in a little intoxicated. I use that word lightly (which is why it's i parenthesis) but the bar is less than a half-mile down the road. [/rantbeforeitgetsoutofhand]

We have nicer Teflon pans. I use stainless utensils which may be partially why the teflon comes up, but the heat seems to dislodge it as well. Yes, I did oil the pans initially before using (this is a must do with all Teflon). I prefer stainless steel pots and pans over anything else because you can cook like all hell and nothing goes wrong. Cast iron gets the job done well also.
I've got a few calphalon pans that are coated and they are like 6 years old and get daily abuse...still running strong.
cast iron is the best though---esspecially for pancakes!!!
