So basically, I would like to own a video camera. I thought aboot poking over the treacherous landscape of lies and buyouts that is the internet, but thought I would ask here first, in hopes that there's a self-proclaimed expert on the boards.

I want a video camera that responds well to light, and is very durable. Needs to have a good battery life and easily transfer files onto a computer. Anything I film would likely be outdoors, and I know that certain formats don't respond so well to light, etc, but I have no idea which. Any help would be pretty sweet.
