IIRC, one of those Speedsters is alleged to be a pre-production model (chassis #3). I don't think the owners are too happy, even with fistfuls of insurance money, that car is irreplaceable.

Meh, turns out none of them were the early ones, but still some expensive and irreplaceable machinery. the truck got high centred on the tracks and couldn't get out of the way of the train.

Hmmm....Twin Cam 356 engine(Available starting in the 1955 356 Carrera) from a totaled P-O-R-S-C-H-E..... That's a really good swap in a VW Beetle!



And waddya mean none of them were early models? I saw 4 356's! The 356 was Porsche's first car and was produced from 1950 to 1965 (On a modified VW Type 1 chassis).

(Another interesting note is that Ferdinand Porsche never designed ANY car for Porsche. Instead, the company gets it's namesake from Ferry Porsche who was his son.)
