I think he is selling mainly so that his wife doesnt get shit from him. Hed be smarter to sell everything he has to his friends for a dollar and then declare bankrupcy. Even if he didnt declare bankrupcy but sold everything to a friend for a dollar, his spouce would not be getting all his shit and he could get it back once the divorce is legally completed.
