I got my cell phone bill today and my jaw dropped when i opened it up. It is normally around thirty bucks a month i pay but this month it was 210 bucks. I called them up and asked why it was so high. cingular says that it is because i went over my minutes. i ask them how that is possible when i have about 6000 roll over minutes. their response is that i changed my plan over the internet to a different type where all of my roll over minutes would not be usable. i tell them that i did not change anything and even if i did there was no message saying that i would forfeit all of my roll over minutes by changing to a different plan. they say that they are sorry but they have a record showing that i changed my plan and i must pay the balance. i ask them why would i forfeit all of my rollover minutes so that i could change my plan. they respond by saying that people change their plans everyday and they don't know why i would change it. they ask me what i want them to do for me and i tell them to reverse the charges, but they say that they cannot do that. i end the conversation by saying that i want my account closed. the guy asks me if there is someone who might want to take over the account, but i say with customer service like this i will not recommend cingular to anyone.
Anybody else have any suggestions on what i should do?

talk to corperate management and tell them your experience, that you will be leaving cingular for verizon, that service was not helpful, that their account security is lousy, and that you will never reccomend them to anyone. if they are a half decent company, you will receive repairations.
yup, call back and ask for a supervisor, explain your story, as them for proof of you autherization(sp?) to change your plan, tell them you did not autherize yoyur plan to be changed, write down the name of everyone you talk to, and thier ID numbers, if people give you shit, ask for thier supervisors, be VERY nice, but firm, this needs to betaken care of, DO NOT SWEAR or use bad language, reiterate the fact that your service with cingular has been great, up until now. remind them that you do not want to have to tell people what bad service you had over 1 incendent, tell them you are not pleased with this, and the only thing they can do id reverse the charges, remember your please and thank yous, it counts... dont lose your cool, be professional.

I disagree, FIRESTORM. Cingular has helped me out the one time I got screwed up. I went over my minutes (before I even had free nights/weekends) and at the time they had a deal for what I was paying with free nigths and weekends. I asked why new members were getting a good deal, but not me. If I couldn't have the deal I was gonna just drop the phone (no contract at the time) and they dropped all the night/weekend minutes used, dropping my bill down to normal.

why do you need to use a cell phone so much that you'ld get a 210 dollar bill, even without roll over minutes? maybe you should invest in a home phone or stop talking to much.
fido sounds like it rox, i get commercials for it on canadien TV all the time, closest we have is cricket, 3995, free calls everywhere, but NO service(not even roaming) ouitside your home area, which ios pretty small...

read the first post. they didn't let me use my roll over minutes. when i supposedly switched plans i was agreeing to forfeit my roll over minutes. about six months ago i switched plans because i was not using hardly any of my minutes so i downgraded to the cheapest plan but i had the 6000 rollover minutes. naturely i didn't want them to go to waste since i had paid for them so my cell phone became my home phone.
