OK,
This is really for the General seciton, but no one reads that section so I posted it here for more feedback:
Check it out. Real clean job too.
Its a shame Maxima ends with an "A", because if it ended with an "O" you could make this a "Maximowned" photo.
Seth
P.S. For those of you who've read the "I hate my new Maxima" thread in the members rides section, this is just icing on the cake. Insurance doesn't cover headlamps (and they do, but only once). Its over $1k in damage. At least there is no labor (I can do it myself!)

Thanks LIU,
I wonder how many of those ebay units were stolen of cars like mine
Anyway it happened early this morning in front of my house. At around 2 a.m. last night they were on (as far as I remeber) but when I woke up this morning they were gone.
It was probably because I'm Sabbath observant and haven't moved the car since Friday. So the people who took them noticed the car hadn't been moved for 3 days and assumed that I was out of town or something.
I live in a residential neighborhood across the street from a middle school. They didn't steal the headlamps because they are too young to drive. But they probably told an older sibling or friend. I live off the beaten path so its not like it was some people cruzin for south beach and happened to drive by my house and take them. It had to be planned not random.
About a month ago some people tried to steal my sisters maxima by taking off the sunroof, slipping inside, and trying to break the ignition. But these cars have the anti-theft built in so anything but the key won't start it.
that is soo gay. those kids should be shot. Let me be the first to volunteer. Obviously they haven't learned that you don't mess with peoples rides. That's worse than messing with a family member. At least they can fight back. The car just has to take it like a 49cent hooker with HIV

I saw a story on the news about that, Maxima HID's being stolen. Apparently Nissan has an upgrade that can be installed to prevent easy access and removal but in no way is it a fail safe. Basically, you'll just set yourself up for more inflicted vehicle damage from the next thief. Your best bet is to downgrade to the regular lights, if possible.
Certainly sucks for sure, a violation of security and vandalization of personal property; Something you worked hard for is taken away by low life scum.
Here's the wierd part.
I may end up getting the OEM 'crystal' halogen lights. (Basically the halogen lights that came on the SE which don't have the 'fogged' look like the ones on the other trims).
Kinda silly since my parents liked the xenon lights (mainly for the 'jeweled' look). So now i"m going to have a 2002 maxima that they bought 2 weeks ago with xenon lights, and spend extra for non-xenon.

Gotta do that recall. Buncha peeps taking HIDs and Nissan knows how to stop it.

Yeah,
But what seriously can they do? Are they just going to make it a fancy nut or something that needs a key? Then they'd get the key or just rip the lights out and glue the tabs on later.
A car alarm won't keep them from stealing the lights, just add to the noise (and my heart condition since more people here have alarms and every time one goes off I have to ask will it be me?), and its expensive to install.
