Have any of you people noticed that people that have SR20DETs are the biggest assholes. I'm talking about FwD and RWD owners alike. All of them are so fucking arrogant like they're better than anyone else. The least helpful people I've ever talked to like they expect you to know everything there is to know when it comes to boost. People like me who don't have the fucking money to blow on an SR20DET always surround these SR20DET people, looking at their engine and giving props to the point where the owners think they're fucking gods.
I dunno about that, the ones I know are just fine.
I think the part where you think they expect you to know everything has to do with not just those who own it, but those who have answered that question a thousand times. When someone doesn't search before asking, especially a question that has been answered thousands of times, it becomes irritating.
I personally have answered a lot of questions many times over, and at times it frustrates me that members don't search. The answer is right THERE! Search first, ask later.

The one S13 SR20DET owner I know is a really nice guy, very helpful and polite. He's also into his 30's and builds his own racecars though, his SR20DET car is just a toy. A toy with gravel tires. That he's trying to build into a rally car. Just as soon as he finds a class for it.
yeah, most of the guys I've met around and talked to with sr20det's have been real cool people.

As the former owner of a FF SR20DET, and future owner of a FR SR20DET I can honestly say that the reason people like me don't talk to others without them is because I don't like to waste my breath a thousand times. Here, let me give you an example so you can relate. Outside of OT, people ask the same friggin questions over and over again without doing a search. That's how it is when your being bombarded with questions of, "where did you get this, and who did it for you"... etc. It just gets to the point where you don't feel like answering any more questions, and end up just not talking to anyone but other DET owners. Alot of the times when people ask you where you got everything done, or where you bought something will never end up using your information in the first place. So its a waste of time. I've told people things, and a year later see them in the same old hoopty ride at the track. And then they ask me same questions again. I don't know if they use it as an ice breaker because what they're really after is the pierced D. But at least they could think of something a lil more original. So my suggestion to you, if you have a problem with these people is to think of smart questions. Or observe things with your mouth closed. And if you want to talk to these people about something other than their car and they don't answer. Then yes, they are assholes. But they are that way because they are, and not because of their turbo status.
As for this DET owner, I still tell people all the time if they ask. Like say for instance xt_out. I answer Q's for him time to time without thinking anything of it. I'm no asshole... so your sterotype ends here.

Those of you who are offended by Hal's comments need to realize this is the off topic forum and shouldn't be taken seriously. There's a reason why threads here don't show up when viewing the new posts listing. It's Hal's nature to be an asshole, and if he steps out of line outside of OT he knows Adam has his finger on the ban button.
i've met and know a few people with sr20det's... the ones i know are cool, but a few i've met come off as assholes. I don't think it has much to do with sr20's though.. i mean, i've met people with b21a preludes that shoot shit all the time, same with people with 4banger automatic mustangs. I doubt it has much to do with what engine it is.. some people just boldly assume they have a better car than everyone else. actions speak louder than words, though.
Yeah, I've met some rude Nissan people in carshows...but noone is as arrogant as punk ass kids who are so damn proud of their B16A and B18 engine swaps and think they're God...
if i ever put an sr20det in my car, i'd still be the same way i am right now.....just as as ever.......i think opium hit that right on the head on why ppl get uspet when they get asked the same question so many times.
Hey, i may not have an SR20DET, but i sure as hell don't boast about it, ask exalta! one thing worse than B16A/B, B18C owners..... fucking ppl with D15B engines, just because they can keep up with a B16 doesn't mean the pwn3d the road! let's see them keep up against a tuned up DET! I hate Hondas!
