I didnt know the friggin time change was supposed to be today. I thought it was at the END of october like around the 31st.
I was in bed watchin Pulp Fiction last night and all the shows on sat. kept being like an hour and a half long under the guide and browser. I was like WTF!!? And I wake up and forgot about that last night and I notice that everyone left for church without me. I kept lookin at my clock and its plenty after 12 and I thought they should be home. Then I notice the clock on my sat. screen and computer and Im like W....T....F?
Why didnt somebody mention this to my dumbass. Anyone else get surprised?

i heard about that ish, and i didnt know whether to push it forward or back....i pushed it back and i hoped that i wouldnt be late to work the next morning....and yea, its pretty stupid
hahaha...I was on the cpu and it changed automatically....otherwise I would have fogotten. The time changes on the last sunday of october I think...pretty sure...yea.
Bah, it screws up my whole day now. Not only do I have less time to do stuff when I get home, but now I dont have nearly enough time to ride my atvs. I get home and BAM 6 hits and its already friggin dark....well....I suppose I can ride in the dark here. I usually only do it when I travel to another trail out of the local area or something. Ooooo, and this gives me another reason to put my fog lights back on my quad...yay! More work!
I thought it was a national thing or something. Dammit, this sucks...

Actually, you can thank Richard Nixon, Ben Franklin, and the Department of Energy for Daylight saving time. We have it in order to save LOTS of energy that we would use for lights, tv, and all the other crap we use when we're up. If our hours are more in sync with the daylight hours we'll use less energy, so that's why its around, primarily.
Ben Franklin originally came up with the idea way back in the day. Then some british guys took it up in the early 1900's, then we decided to take it on. Different states and counties did it all differently so it made things really funky for broadcasters, airlines, etc. That's when the US government came in. They got rid of it, yada yada, then when Nixon was president he implemented it for a 2 year period(1966 or 76, I think) during the oil crisis. When they saw how effective it was they kept it around. Alaska, Hawaii, and some parts of Indiana don't participate.
That's my understanding of the whole thing. My history on it is a bit crappy, but that's as much as my brain remembers. I'm a med student, you try remembering all these Nissan stuff and 206 bones. Too much. I should be studying nutrition now anyway. Later.
i think its completely idiotic, I mean, the only thing it does is screw people over. Yes, the farmers I guess can appreciate it for more time for light, but is that even an issue now?
I knew about it but wound up forgetting to set my clock back. I got up and had to be to work at 1pm, but didn't realize it was an hour earlier until I got to work! AAAAGH! I coulda had an extra hour of sleep!
