aight, I have the full version of Adobe Acrobat 5.0 on my machine and I'm trying to create a PDF from a word document. The document has both words and an image. I opened up Acrobat and selected File-->Open as PDF, I select the word file, and it tells me "cannot open file." Ok, next try is going to the document and print it to Adobe Distiller. I hit print, select Adobe Distiller as the printer, "ok", and it tells me "the document failed to print."

How come I can't create a PDF file and what other methods are open so I can get text and images on a single page of a PDF?

Hmm there is a word plugin that allows word > PDF conversion. Sorry I don't have a link readily available

When you are in word after you install acrobat it should have created a little pdf icon on the screen somewhere. I was gettin the same error because it wasnt recogniing the postscript so it wouldnt create a pdf. I reinstalled (adobe acrobat 6) and it works fine now. I can create pdfs from a lot of programs.
