What the world needs now is VEntInG!!!

What luck, it's a wonderful Friday, what can be better? I'll tell you what...I pull into a parking space this morning for class, and BAM, I misjudged the turn and Whacked a fat assed Acura 3.2 CL-S (2001+). I lightly scuffed my crystal headlights/corners, cracked the bracket on my corners (crazy glue = fixed), and scratched, scuffed, and burned(I don't know how) a hole in the bumper of my car. On his/her car, I scuffed the rear bumper pretty damn bad.

Conclusion, I need a new front bumper, and he'll either need a new rear bumper and paint or just some paint and touchup if the bodyshop is good. I, of course, am taking responsibility here (unlike some people) and I left my name and number on his windshield. Haven't gotten a call yet, but I most likely will sometime today and will need to pay for his damages.

To top it off, I got rent soon and having just applied for financial aid, I don't know when/if I will get any money from the school this semester. I also have no music to listen to in my car until I can afford some speakers and an amp. I am one broke ass bitch.

Anyone have any suggestions for me about how to go about his/her repair. I will pay for any damages, but I don't want to get ripped if the person decides to do a lil extra work on the side. If the car only needs touchup and paint, I don't want to pay for a whole new bumper and paint the entire car, or if the person decides to sneak in an aftermarket bumper and some custom bodywork on my tab, I don't want to get fucked. I'm of course not gonna report it to the insurance company b/c a few bills is better than having the rates go up.

man, I shoulda taken the bus.

PS: If any kind, fortunate people would like to help me out with some pocket change, I'm a poor college student living on scraps I find in the dumpster (Ok, not really)...but seriously, if you can, I could use some extra funds to help me through my hard times (my paypal ), I promise your good karma will be rewarded.

oh, BTW I'm broke right now, but when I can afford it, I need a new bumper. Any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe Stillen FB, 98 sentra/95-97 200sx bumper with Stillen lower lip, or maybe wait and see if customsentra.com comes up with anything new.

Sounds almost as bad as my life.No money, my POS Senrta needs a bumper cover and grille and both axles and brake work too. I do bodywork, so labor's not a problem but I can't even afford materials!I am working 2 jobs and not making enouhgh to live on and have no hope for the future. So, needless to say, I feel your pain.

Men dance naked to pay for college just as much as women do.

Anyway, your personal car problems you will have to live with for a while. There's nothing you can do about that.

I would only worry about this guys/girls car and what they decide to do. Wait and see. Maybe they will do nothing at all. But everything is contingent on their action now. (didja get a plate number?)

I think I remembered hearing that in Florida there is a very short time in which the other driver can file a claim against you , like 48 hours. So, if they don't contact you, don't worry about it.Plus, since that was your fault, your insurance should cover the damages.

ok, I did get the plate number of the Acura and I wrote down the model. He has my first name and cell # on his windshield.

I don't really wanna get the insurance company involved unless it's an XPENSIVE repair, which I assume it's not. What do you think it would be to replace and paint just the rear bumper on a 2001+ Acura 3.2CL-S?

About the 48hour thing, how do I prove when I hit and left the note. He could call me a week from now, and still demand repair and I can't prove that I hit him today or if I hit him a week ago or 5 days from now.

oh also, if he decides to do the repair, how do I make sure I get a good deal (since I'm paying). I don't want to be taken to the most expensive place (most likely the dealer) and then charged for an entire new bumper, then paint the entire car, then end up fixing some oil leak that "wasn't there before" then getting a few floor mats on the side.

The burden of proof is his.You are innocent until proven guilty. The repair should be around $500 at a reputable bodyshop since Acura parts aren't cheap and good paint costs lots of money.Plus, there's about 2-5 hours of labor involved.
