well today seemed to be the perfect day, i picked up my girl after work, she looked especially good, and then stopped at my house so i could change and get my wallet and stuff. then i drive down to the end of my street, make a right, go about 30 ft, and BAM! the car just jerks to the right, into a pole and the curb. the airbags went off, and its all smokey and shit inside, so i get out, and my girl rolls out, screaming cause her insides hurt or something, so i tend to her, as some people come over, and call for help, etc. she ends up being fine, and just needed a bandaid, and so then i look at the car, and its basically fucked. i found the valve stem about 8 - 10 ft from where the car hit the pole, so i guess the valve stem blew outta the rim, and the right front tire went, yanking it sideways into the pole. the airbag cracked the windshield up pretty good, and the right front rim is cracked in half, like so that the outer part and the inner part are 2 separate pieces. the fender is fucked, as well as the bumper, and the headlight is pushed into the grille. the passenger door also doesnt shut all the way, or shut properly, something like that. my insurance is only for comp and liability, so that means something like this isnt covered under my plan, so its on me to fix it, if it isnt totalled. my dad said he is calling the lawyer tomorow, to see what we can do, maybe something with the tire company, since the valve stem failed, causing the accident, and the tire place installed the valve stems. here it was some special stem with a chrome housing, the guy put them on because i had chrome valve caps, im thinking maybe they werent meant for my car or something. also, the tires werent over inflated or anything like that, i just got the tires like a month ago, so they were filled at the tire place, and havent been messed with since. any opinions on what my options are? if i dont get some sort of legal case, then its all on me. anyone know anything about the legal system, as to what i can do in this situation?
sorry to hear about your car man, all of us are going down lately for some reason
but most if not all shops warranty their work, so if u still have the receipt/invoice, look it over and see what it says. Def. talk to a lawyer because if u go straight to the shop and tell them what happened, they wont do shit....trust me they'll try to say it was your fault for negligence. a competant lawyer should find a loop hole to get u something. my insurance was also only liability when i crashed my car so i didnt bother with them, it was just easier that way......hope u get shit fixed bro
i can fix it all, except for the cracked windshield, and for the airbags, ill just mold them back smooth, with some fiberglass, you will never know the difference. its just the axle that seems like it would be troublesome, anyone ever replace an axle before?
Originally posted by go4broke44 i have an auto too though, that might complicate or simplify things, its the right side axle, isnt that the drive axle?
