So say I'm walking around downtown one night and some f'ed up crackhead or someone jumps out at me and attemps to rob me at gunpoint. If I happen to take a knife and stab him in the throat, killing him, and then leave the scene, would I get in a lot of trouble? What would happen to me, assuming they could ever find out it was me? Would it be better to get to a phone and call the cops and stick around or what? Cause you figure you kill someone downtown like that, it wouldn't be to safe to stick around the body and avoid getting shot by someone else.
Had a friend that was in the same sistuation like that. Someone hired a hitman on him & tried to kill him @ his house, but he defended himself & killed the intruder. He did call the cops & he waited for them. Went to trial, got around 4-5 yrs in prision, but only got 3.5 yrs for good behavior. Also the hitman he shot was wanted in Cali for several killings & cops were looking for him. Now if my friend would've ran from the cops, they'll probably give him a longer sentences.

i have heard that if some dude breaks into your house, "shoot to kill", and if he wasn't armed when he entered the house, make it look like he was ie. knife or something. If you shoot him and he lives, he can sue yor ass for the medical bills and shit

I don't understand... I've heard of stuff like that before too but I still can't see how that's possible. Makes no sense whatsoever. That's just flat out not fair. urg... For some reason, it's really not surprising to hear stuff like this anymore.
In both of those situations...that is pure self defence...any DA who prosecutes something like that IMO is the true criminal. People have the right to defend their person, property and loved ones with force necessary to ensure their safety.

At least in SC if you kill someone invading your house/property people don't get all liberal and give you shit for it, they applaud you for it. Just recently a guy walked out on his front porch with a shotgun and killed like 3 gang members who were in the process of having a shootout on his front lawn. There was a little controvery at first since they weren't in his house, just his front yard, but it turned out ok in the end.

gotta love tx, if someone gets on your property, legally you can kill them.. end of story
In this country, you may defend yourself using only "necessary force." So if someone pulls a gun on you, you can stab the hell outta them and walk, so long as you call the cops. But if you're a big dude and a little dude comes after you, you can only knock him unconscious, not use lethal force because it ain't required to stop him.

I believe that this is true in almost every country.
Some places add to that.
Texas has some neato laws that date back to pre- electricity, horse-stealing days. They basicly say that, between sundown and sunup and on your property, you CAN shoot first and ask questions later.
Not so in Wisconsin.
In any case, there's an old saying:
"It's better to be judged by twelve than carried by six".
