I got a ticket for parking...

Say, has anyone got a ticket or fine for backing in a parking space at school. I got a 5 dollar fine for doing that at my school and it was also illegal to that at the community college I went to before.

Anyone have a clue why you can't do this?
It's just stupid is what I think.

Well,
Usually its in areas where there are no front plate requirements and people/cops whatever going down the lot want to see plates.
Either that or rear places parking permits/stickers.

What Seth said, I think they have it in Quebec, but not here where we have front & back plates. That's among the stupidest rules in existence. It actually punishes you for being a consciencious driver.

If they are angled spots then there is a law that you can't back into them because they are one way lanes and if you backed into that spot it means you went the wrong way down a one way lane.

Back in college, we couldn't back up in a parking space because they couldn't see the parking sticker on the back window/bumper.

ya, but even so....u can still pull off a tight turn and go the right way if u park in backwards in one of the angles spots, ive done it, its not hard at all(unless youre parked to a huge vehicle)

I heard it was because it makes it harder to tow the car.

well if they tow a FWD from the rear, they will just drag the front tires, severly pissing off the owner of the car
