What's the strangest vehicle you have ever seen on a dragstrip?
What is the strangest vehicle you have ever seen on a dragstrip? For me the one that really sticks out in my mind is a 1986 Yugo GV with a turbo off a Mitsu 3000 GT VR4 on it.The whole setup was owner built and fed by a 2 barrel Delco carb. Ran 11.2 in the 1/8 I think.

it would have to be a 12 second mini van with a 2jz motor in it... it was from like the late 80's...

new ones are niiiiice... ...have those little fender flares that scream "evo".

strangest things were a Kia Pride (Ford Festiva) with the Mazda 323 swap in it, and a bunch of old Toyota Corolla Sprinters with superchargers...

strangest i've heard of was a custom built crate with an Isuzu Gemini front clip, fully independent rear clip (almost like an RC, separate subframe) and a 13T (yup, Toyota 1.3Turbo) motor... ran 12s flat and hung with some awesome V8s down at the American airbase in Clark in the old days.

i didn't see it at the drag strip but got some picture of it. someone was selling it... a ford pinto...





oh yeah, someone also took a golf cart down a track once, lol! it took forever just on the 1/8th track.

on the same night, i saw a gremlin ran 12.3, a s caddy sts ran 16.6 bone stock, and a 58 vette, that the guy dropped a ls6 in he miss shifted twice and still ran a 13.2, he couldn't drive worth a shit. missed 2nd i don't know hw you can miss 2nd then he missed 4th again i don't know what the hell the guy was doing

I drive a 1979 AMC Spirit GT with a AMC 360 in it at the drags, but I don't consider it "wierd", just unique!

At NHRA Woodburn last year the final competitors were taking so long to get staged and ready to go that two guys on gas-powered scooters ran down the track. Mid-30-second passes, IIRC.
