whats the average cost of living in SoCal. like the average price of an apartment? nothing special just the basic living quarters (1br/1 bath). Since my DET project is over, for now, and my girl left me, i think im gonna work on getting outta this boring town. ive always wanted to move to the coast. and i have an uncle in Newport Beach, CA that is cheif of security and a condo complex. so maybe he could hook me up. but i dont know. Anybody have an thoughts or suggestions about this?
BTW: yes i know it isnt cheap. but im just tryin to get some figures
1br/1bth around 550 600 it all depends where it could go as high as 700 for that 1 bed room. use the net to look for appartments in the so cal area just to get an idea.
Originally posted by Lisa right here in the san fernando valley for a studio its like 700 for like a 1bed/1bath its like 850 a month correct me if im wrong.........
Thats pretty much right. Unless you want to go to compton where the same thing is about 500 a month and you could live in a ghetto neighborhood or you could go to westwood where the same thing would be 1500 a month. Depends on where you go and what size the apartment is. 1 bdrm/1 bth could be 500 - 1500 sq ft.
Very true. OC is hella expensive ( I know this, because I live down here ) but that's the price you pay to play, you could live in LA, in the 'hood, but remember this ... you get what you pay for.

this is very true, u get what u pay for when it comes to buying a house, u def dont want to cheap out and live in the ghetto, i live in the ghetto, its kinda sad and scary when i have the best looking car in my neighborhood
if you go to a town like hemet (near moreno valley and not too far from san bernadino) you could get an apartment for like 600 bones and hemet's a quiet town . . . safe. i guess it's cause it's full of old people, but - hey . . . "you get what you pay for . . ."
or you can always move to palm-jail i mean palmdale and get a 1bed/1bath for like 600 but its straight in the desert and its pretty boring imo and i really wouldnt recommend it but like i said thats just my opinion............

Actually in palmdale you can get a 2bdrm house for that much. I bought a 4 bdrm 2200 sq ft house in palmdale for 115,000. So you could imagine how cheap the apartments must be. But I also sold it cuz there aint shit to do out there except run ur car at the track every wednesday and friday. But thats it!
well you can get a house cheaper in any city you live in as long as it's 60 miles beyond the city limits! my house 1345 sq ft, 2 bdrm 2.5 bath, 273k at time of purchase... in montana, 273k can buy you like 50 acres and a mansion to boot! it's like monoply you know?

Yup, he's right... the good places are hella expensive. I live in Santa Clarita, and it's prices simiar to OC. about 900+ for 1 bed/bath.
join the military and get stationed in socal then housing is free
