college campus police not that bad

well after getting off class 2nite i was speeding through the parking lot and kinda sorta ran a stop sign and as i turned to see if cars were coming i saw a cop car coming from my left but it was too late to stop, so i kept going and i knew he might pull me over, so i turned and kept checking my rearview, a car got a chance to get in front of the cop and i was nearly leaving campus as i thought he wasnt gonna do anything, he was a ways back when i saw his lights come on....crap!, then they went off..

and as i exited the campus the cop was right behind me and as soon as i left it he flipped his lights(no siren) and pulled me over, and i thought i was gonna get a ticket for loud music rather than the stop sign since it wasnt so bad, guy asks me for my registration, license, and insurance, while his buddy is tryin to keep an eye on me, they both leave and they flash me with all their lights, i wasnt nervous and started drinkin my soda and was gonna make a phone call.....i guess one of the cops thought it mightve been a weapon and checked up on me....not to mention all my windows were down and my friend had left his bright orange bong in my back seat footrest area in plain sight...fuck! cop came back and said he was gonna cut me a break which was hella cool with me......sorry for wastin your time, just had to get this off my chest

The cops at my school are really cool guys, they see underage students with beers and don't do a thing. Just as long as you stay in your room or around there and you aren't stumbling everywhere, they figure you aren't in any danger to yourself or others, so they don't mind.

just last week i was at a stop light it was red. and then bhind me was a semi. and it was blinding me. and then i was with a firend and i was out past MY cerfew. and then i go DAMN A PIG! then he gets beside me and i see in my rearview he talking on the walky talky thangs. and then. i look straight and got nervous and then push the gass and go slowlye like 5 mph. and then faster but not fast fast. my friend yells AYE im like . wtf. u talking to the kop? then i look back and saw green and they was back there then i go. did i just run a red. and he goes. yeah so i dip the the left. and park bhind a bar. and turn off my lights. lol it was skarey. so i leave going to the street over. by the ESU campus an then saw a cop and then it had lights there 1 pasted by and then 1 was commin and as soon as i he passes by me i get to a light and STOP!?!? i look up and see its green im like OMG!?! lol then go to a firends house. it was odd . my brain was farting or sumthing but it was weerd ahah he let me go. he knew i ran that red. too. and i stopd less then 5 mins later in front another one at a GREEN?? lol

college campus cops really dont care about much things, the reason i think i got pulled over was because the cop told me he also works for the city police department. but since he was on campus i guess he realized i was a student that didnt really commit a serious crime, enough to get a ticket, besides it was like 9pm, i dont think he wanted/needed the paperwork

I think that's one of the main reasons they're so easy going

ya, its not like campus police are expected to bust ppl for everything possible like city cops, campus police only really care about parking violations and speeding, everything else is not on their A list i dont think

My campus police are ass holes. Everyone on campus knows this even the local county police can't stand them. They will pull you over if you are going 21 in a 20. On the last day of school, everyone in my dorm building figured out it would be easier to pull the car up to the window of the dorm (just a grassy area) to load he cars. We would pull up the car, open the window and just pass the stuff through to load it up. A cop comes up to me and says "what are you doing?" and shaked his head. He makes everyone pull off the grass and he calls in more troops to block off the area, some people even got tickets. Now I need to lug all my stuff about 500ft from the dorm to the parking lot, which BTW is totally packed b/c everyone is moving out at once.

I did run into the same situation as illest rice tho. It was the weekend before the fall semester started last year. One of my roommates and his friends went out to hooters that night and we took 2 cars. On the way home, I was pulled over by a campus police and I had to go through all the crap. He told me I was going 14 over (in a 20) and that my registration was expired (which I didn't believe b/c my sticker was fine and I didn't get a new sticker and registration for another month or so). He started telling me how much it would be for speeding and how much it is for having an expired registration and so on. He then told me to go, but he never said it was a warning so I was still freaked that b/c it was a campus police, I might end up getting the ticket in the mail or something.
