my friend just called me and says his idle is up around 3000rpm and when he unplugs the TPS it drops back to normal idle. would anybody know what this could be?
i dont know if it has to do with anything but i have a bad thermostat in my GA and my car idles a little high sometimes. i know his thermostat is bad too. could these two problems be related somehow (high idle and bad thermo)?
ediT::: sorry for all these non nissan related threads
yes it could because it makes the water pump have to work that much harder and makes the engine work harder making the idle go up. it will also make the fanwork harder does he have a e fan or a clutch fan?

Stripped out the A/Cdoes your car run on Soy Sauce?
ive got a stang sittin in my shop right now waiting on the holley heads to come back from the machine shop(not mine though =( ) but yeah there are some stang lovers here. anyway to your question....it sounds like that could be it...but for an answer from mustang people go to stangnet.com and post in the 5.0 tech section. good luck
Well I have a Ranger and from what I've seen on those message boards is that the idle air control valve seems to be a common Ford problem. Just a guess though.
