Advice on Stocks
A friend of mine lost some money on stocks and needs to change his stock options. Anyone have any experience in this? Which stocks are hot right now?

Only Precious Metals stocks.
No matter what they tell him, IMHO it is better if he gets out and stays out of the stock market.
There will always be hot stocks but in a declining market it is very difficult and risky to pick them from the pile of loosers.

The thing is his job gives him these stocks for free and it's up to him to pick which ones he wants. He's had them for a while and last year he lost some money. He now has the option of changing them to something else.

i have always been partial to tech stocks but they are very tricky and you always have to keep a close eye on them

Not really sure. He just said he has stocks that his company gives him. Not sure if they're like bonuses or something or 401k.

It its a 401k (or any type of Retirement plan), he'd do best by keeping it in cash, or VERY low risk funds.
