Question Any Pool Players here?

I've recently got into the game and i think its time to get my own stick so i dont have to play with the crooked house sticks.

Im looking to spend 100-200 on a good quality 2-piece stick.

Any name brands i should look for? I noticed 'Players' sticks for around 90.00 are they any good? there is another brand called mucci or muchie (sp?) anyway some of those sticks were around 1000.00 What makes them so expensive?

Ive seen some sticks with softer looking tips instead of the regular wood tips whats this about?

Educate me.

Thanks in advance.

Cool man. I play frequently. My parents actually just bought me a sweet cue. Its a Spalding 21 oz. Its made of graphite so its light but solid.
I started to take the game a little more seriously when I got the stick. Using house cues sucks ... Having your own cue will seriously improve your game. You start learning the games and the rules more as well. Uses to play 8-ball all the time, then started playing 9-ball and have found it to be more fun. Alright man, have fun!

Yes....every Thursday night!! I am in the Austin APA. It is a blast! A great way to forget about all of the B.S. and just have fun!

The one I got is the 21Oz Eliminator (Fiberglass). After the first few games with it, I could tell a difference, and I take it more seriously because of coarse I worry about damaging the Cue, so i take more time and line up the shot, which in turn makes my game not such a joke.

I love playing pool. I need to get my own stick, I prefer 20 oz sticks. I see sweet ones all the time at pool halls, one of these days I'll get one.

instead of a glove i take a $1 bill and wrap it around the end of the shaft where your hand slides back and forth and polish the last foot or so with the bill. make sure your hand don't have any oil on them (natual oil) so wash your hands. after all that your cue will be very smooth and controlable.
