apparently, the tsx is the us counterpart to the accord type-r. My friend, who himself owns an accord, was the only person who noticed it at the la auto show. This is a guess based on the fact that the chassis is very similar in design to the accord, the car looks like a cl (same chassis as accord,) and is pushing 200hp out of a 2.4 (probably more tq than k20a though, much like an accord type r.) If somebody could back me up on my speculation, it would be appreciated. Thanx

P.S. If its true, you can't hate on Honda Boys putting Accord Type-R badging on the TSX. Nobody hates when someone puts Altezza badging on an IS300, so why the double standard then.

The TSX features a 2.4-liter DOHC, i-VTEC engine that generates 200 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 166 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm.
2.4L and all they could squeeze out of it was 200 crank hp? Sounds like honda is slackin. No one is ever going to buy it with the new '03, '04 WRX, EVO, and SRT 4 hangin around... That is, unless your retarded and it was practically a gift, and you don't care about what is actually good.

not to down nissan but after seeing the spec v put only 175hp at crank out of a 2.5.........200hp out of a 2.4 sounds good to me.......wassup with this?

Well the thing and honda and why I said they are "slackin", is that honda prides themselves on delivering more horsepower per liter of displacement than anyone else. Hence the S2000. That is what I was basing most of my comments on.

And nissan also gives you something honda doesn't... torque. Lower hp is okay if you have real torque to get you off the line first. I myself a former honda junkie had to find out the hard way what wins races.

i too was a honda kid.......didnt know what hp was, torque wasnt even in my dictionary.......i just thought hondas were fast since they were so popular (ignorant i was) but i can see the torque numbers on nissans are awesome........and if that honda and the spec v raced, it might be a closer race than expected.....not sure on the weight differences tho....so i might be talking outta my ass right now

yeah, weight is a big thing anymore with safety standards escalating. It's almost as if they want imports to be as safe as tanks. Oh well, I guess for the general population, they need to be. I don't get why they don't supply every car with roll cages and 5 point harnesses. End of story. No airbags needed, no special crumple zones, and everybody wears helmets. Everyone should be as safe as a race car driver. I mean, it would be weird to hear someone say, "oh, i just wrecked at 110 mph, but I feel gggreeeat! Wish I could say the same about the car, ahh ha ha ha!"

and I too am talking out of my ass. The fatigue and boredom factor has really set in right about now...
