Replaced my old clunker with new clunker

Well I sold my 95 eclipse GS this weekend and replaced it with a 2000 hyundai Elantra GLS. The eclipse had 120,000 miles on it and was turning into a money pit so I figured I've owned it from day one and was sick of the car so I sold it for $1,000.00. Keep in mind both of these cars are my secondary clunker cars. I went to Nissan and purchased off there used car lot the elentra for $4,500.00. It has 65,000 miles on it and is very clean. Here are some pics.

The system in the trunk was a surprise. When I test drove the car i didn't turn up the radio. And Nissan didn't know it was in there because they had just gotten the car in when I bought it. They didn't have a chance to get in the car and detail it and stuff. So when I picked the car up the guy said "I hope you like systems". When I opened the trunk I was like holy shit.

I don't think they had a chance to incorpoate the price of the system into the car yet. Bonus for me.

I do miss my eclipse though, I had a lot of fun in that car over the past 6 years.

I was thinking that but my problem with it is I don't like how systems loosen everything on a car, they turn into rattle boxes. I can notice it on the hyundai, at certain decibals I can hear the trunk rattling more than the bass. I don't want that to happen to my alty.

Winners and Losers...

Good for you with getting the system at no charge.
Obviously, the previous owner was a rookie and not
wise to the tactics of dealers when it comes to trade
in's. He most likely got $0 on the system when he traded
it in.

I made sure I yanked everything I could off my '93 Altima
SE when I went to trade it last year. System, rims, etc...
Mr. Nissan Dealer wasn't going to give me a dime over
book value (which I had to fight for anyway) let alone
anything for my "accessories."

I had a similar system in my old Alty and you just need
to line the trunk with some sound insulation like dynomat
or something to take care of the rattling.

Also, leave the system in the Hyundai...IMO.
Who wants an extra 300 lbs. in there 3rd
gen anyways...

Surprisingly yes pretty comfortably, remember the car I am replacing was an eclipse and I fit in that pretty comfortably even though I had the seat pushed back to the rear seats and no one could sit behind me.

I would say it cost about $1,500 but this is guessing. I have a good freind that installs systems for a living, I am going to get an appraisel from him.
