Just figured I would show you guys what I do besides cars.
It's a Midwest Extra 300S. Wingspan is 80" I forgot the fuselage length. Hoping to get it to about 13 lbs. It has a Desert Aircraft 50cc engine. Electronic ignition and it's a gas burner (compared to the nitromethane fuel that goes for anywhere of 20-30 dollars a gallon)
All in all it should cost right under 3K... Which is more than what my car cost Thank god the cost has been spread over 3 years. I'll make sure to take some more pictures as I go.

I've got one but I've stopped flying for a while. Some Tower Hobbies plane, cant remember the name of the top of my head. It's got a Magnum 46XL engine though.

No I bought it for 300 dollars a while back.. All that came in the box was a book and a whole bunch of sticks and sheets of balsa.
My step-mom is the crafty one so she's doing all the Monocoating. (Plastic sheets with temperature activated adhesive on one side.)
I have some custom kits I'm dying to build (meaning plans only I have to cut and shape the wood). I have all the parts and it's 1/2a but I just don't have the room or time. Maybe later in life.
So it uses spark rather than glow plugs? 4-stroke too?
2 stroke gas burner. Yes NGK spark plugs
I dunno about having to buy all the wood seperate but we made quite a few adjustments on this one. Such as making all the control surfaces bigger for 3D Aerobatics.

Damn, don't you worry about slamming it into the ground or accidently flying it out of range or something? Not that I'm judging, we all got our thing... just that, $3k? Damn.
Either way, the transmitter I use can transmit over 6 miles. So if I fly out of range it's my own damn fault.
Not everything that cost 3K is already in there. I mean I still have all my electronics to put in, batteries for the ignition, 2 reciever bats., and the smoke oil pump bat., 6 servos and a whole bunch of other shit. I just got the prop today. I'll have some new pics to post up soon. The wings are almost done being covered and ready to go.
