^^ Ironically, it would have carried more weight if the protest had not been sanctioned by the schools, and 800 protesters walked out of school and into delinquency charges for standing up for what they believe in.

Well this just shows where the school district stands, though I don't think that the school should have provided anything. I understood it, it was you that didn't undersatnd my counterpoint.

But it's also well known that most teachers have "liberal" or leftist tendencies, which makes sense. Anti-censorship, pro-information, anti-ignorance.

I still find it amusing how "liberal" has become such a disparaging term.

An excellent example of the "I'm right and you're wrong" mentality.

I have to say, Reagan may have been an ideal republican. I like the fact that he handled the situation with Libya decisively. I like the fact that he committed to the arms race when we were threatened by the Soviets build up. I think that he was mistakenly blamed for the recession that was years in the making. However, he also gave us the war on drugs which has filled our prisons and sucked our tax dollars so that we could lock up dangerous pot smokers (wtf?).

W on the other hand has not given us ONE good thing, or done a competent job of handling the military. He lost Bin Laden after 9/11, probably because he took 3 weeks to get special forces into afghanistan. He puts my friends and family in Iraq like some kind of misplaced act of aggression. He does not supply them with the manpower or hardware to get the job done right. His people fubar the New Orleans disaster (Bush appointed his old military buddy to run FEMA--even though he had no experience with any kind of crisis management). He tries to put a Justice on the supreme court that had no experience as a judge.

I don't hate this guy because he is a republican, I hate him because he is a moron who hasn't done one right thing. I mean, can somebody suggest ANYTHING his presidency has accomplished that benefits America? Please?

Also, Gorbachev played a very important role in the ending of the cold war. His policies were anti-proliferation, and it helped end the cold war. If Gorbachev had not been as welcoming to the idea of ending the cold war, it might have prolonged and/or developed into something else.

The ression and deficeit was directly related to the arms race.. Reagan did a lot of good things, but fiscal managment was not one of them.

I agree,,, People like to label me here as a Democrat.. anti-Republican. Liberal..etc... they couldn't be farther from the truth.. What I hate is incompetence, lying, using fear tactics, and using the flag in order to prevent critisms.....ie... you're unpatriotic if you don't follow the line...

I challenge any of the Bush lovers to post the positives this President has brought to our country in the last 5 years...
