Getting Reported

i live in nys and was driving today and following an extremely slow bus, so at a stop sign i went around him and blew off the sign. my house wasnt to far away and i parked out front and i saw the driver write down my plate number. my question is can he do anything? will i get a ticket? if so, how can this be, its my word against his, what's stopping me from just denying the whole thing ever happened?

dont worry about it, bus drivers usually dont even know the rules of the road.

like you can pass a stopped bus on a street that is perpendicular to yours (like at an intersection) but for some reason they all think you can't and get really mad. whatever.

I'm pretty sure you can't get a ticket. If an officer did not see you do it then he doesn't have proof. But will happen is, if the person who wrote down your plate number reports it, next time a cop sees your car he will keep an extremely close eye on you to make sure you don't do anything stupid. So you probably won't get a ticket, but now you gotta watch your back like a hawk.

You could potentially get a warning or a ticket.

Short story, while I lived in Montana I was in a hurry to get back on base so I (stupidly) drove like a madman and passed 2 cars very illegally. Those 2 cars called in my plates and I got a ticket.
(no cops were around)

So you blew past a school bus at a stop sign to save maybe 2 minutes? That's just plain stupid :dumbass:

Bullshit if its legal.. Who did you call the Fashion Police?

Running a stop sign while passing a school bus is legal? Are you on drugs? I take that back.. that would be an insult to people that do drugs..

For reference please see kaptainkrolllio's quotes....both of them

Be nice to busses they are like the fat kid in school if you get them pissed off too much they might sit on. And a bus outweighs most cars and the car will suffer more damage.

noooooo, im refering to driving by a stopped bus on a perpendicular street. Like, the bus is dropping passengers off on street x, near the corner of street x and street y. you can legally drive by on street y. but bus drivers freak out when you do it because they think it's illegal (and so do a lot of people), but it makes no sense, they're not even on the same street!
