2006 Scion xA

Hey, i was wondering what you guys thought about the 2006 Scion xA. I will be getting rid of my sentra, and purchasing this car because it has good gas, and has alot of potential. I am ordering it on oct. 15th. I am going to be purchasing Gold Line springs(for a two inch drop), TRD exhaust, and a EP10 wheels, stock wheels...but they are alright. i will then be getting on the 22nd, i am getting a 5% window tint. i just want to know what you think because i guess your opinion matters to me.

from a looks standpoint i prefer the xb but it gets worse mileage than the xa due to its shape.
also the interior in the xb is much more versatile/useable. However the xa should handle slightly better.

What's your budget? and are you buying outright (considering it's less than $15k i don't see why not).
it's an echo so is the lowest quality product that toyota makes. That still places it way above the competition, but it won't be a camry when it comes to reliability.

well. i am spending 15,513 without tax, so about 16, 900 with it. i am getting it because i thought it would have good reliablity. also my dad wants me to get it, so the sentra has to go, and i have to love the xA. i will however be making this car a street car. it will eventually have a supercharger, and some other go nads.

whats funny is that the things you listed you like about the xA your sentra has.

Gas milage, yeah the GA excels in that.

Potential, if your gonna supercharge your xA why not just keep the sentra and turbo it?

its alot easier to mod a car without having a new fresh car payment on top of that.

The scion has 0 potential as far as the engine is concerned, but I can see it being a good handling car with the right equiptment. It only gets ~32-35mpg highway from the ratings I've seen though, the corolla (with a larger engine) gets over 40.

well, i wasnt really into the xA to be honest with you, but i eventually started to love it. my sentra has all sorts of problems, and it has been a nightmare since day one. we bought it used!! but the scion, for price cannot be beat. the engine also does not have much potential, but enough to get the car in the 14 second quarter range. also when i said potential, i meant to get it looking and handling good. plus, it is like a go-kart.

I sat in one today (went to the auto show, sat in lots of cars), its pretty nice. As far reliabilty, its a Toyota, so no problems there. I like the whole Scion attitude as far as the dealerships and the company itsself, they support a lot of indie artists and musicians and treat their customers very well. They "get it."

Personally, I was very impressed with the new Civic, they are going to sell a buttload of those. I think it was the most looked at car there. I would go with a Civic coupe, very stylish, nice too.

The Ion redline was neat, I think its more expensive though.

I do not understand how you could like a scion xb it looks like a creaking lunch box or a washing machine with wheels. Serioiusly lean your washing machine back and put wheels on it. The electric motor is probally comperable to. You don't have to get a new car dude. Get a late nineties car for like 10k or something like a 300xz, rx7 fd, supra, 240sx, mx-6, celica, mr2... something along those lines. then with the extra 5k you have I think you could make it more than streetable. Most people that drive those cars and do work to them can afford a new car but they choose to have a faster car. Serously dude I would get an mr2 though it is a two seater it has lots of "potential" and has a turbo charge 4cyclinder engine so it isn't too bad on the gas or handling with the reliablity of a toyota. An old car will be just as reliable as a new car as long as you treat it right dictated of course by the cars care standards. If you aren't that willing to spend time with it cross the rx-7 off your list. Serously though getting a front wheel drive car well defiantely take away its "streetability" I believe most ricers are fwd. But most drag racers swear by rwd and awd. awd a little less becuase you loose efiecency at high speeds. Plus the scion xa just looks slow to me. Like something my grandma would drive. /2cents

OMG, there's this key on that thing under your hands, its bigger than the ones with letters on it, it says ENTER on it.

Second, I like the xB styling, its very unique, and versatile. Its a blank canvas. And some people get new cars because they want a warranty and not have to deal with fixing a car all the time, or worry about how the last owner treated it.

I work on my own cars, and my dad owns his own shop, so I wouldn't get a new car, but I understand.

And I've seen plenty of riced out RWD/AWD cars, trust me, especially AWD cars as of late, what with the popularity of EVOs and WRXs (and those clowns obviously have cash to spare).

well, i like the xA not the xB, the xB has the worst drag coefficiency ever. but i want a new car, because i know i wont have to spend more than what i paid for in the first place. also i am looking for a roomy car, because i always haul people. so sports cars our outta my league, and i am not really into racing, never was... at least not on the streets, but i think that a classy xA would be preffered over some riced out evo or something.

I would definately choose a evo over any scion. Any ways did you look at the TC better potential there a little more but not much.
