Anyone know if Nissan is planning on releasing a hybrid Altima or something soon? BTW I work for Honda... Shhh and the new 06 hybrid Civic is about to roll out and I hear they have navigation system and xm radio which is a nice change from Civics of the recent past which have been a bit boring...It's time for a new ride and gas is so outrageous , with no relief in sight I'm thinking a Hybrid is the best way to go. Whats a girl to do?
What do you drive now? I don't blame you for wanting hybrid with the ridiculously high gas prices. I'm not sure if Nissan has any plans for a hybrid in the near future but i'm sure someone will be along shortly to answer that.
is it just me...or does "Battle" and "Hybrid" just look silly next to each other
My Batteries are better than yours....
Well, maybe the future of "tuners" will sound like this:
I just modded my hybrid. I put a bigger armature in there. I'm saving up for a new stator though. Maybe I'll rewind the electric motor, get more watts.

I just put an electrical super charger in there and its flying, but is it possible to put a turbo timer on it.

You forgot about the flux capacitor mod from AEM... (ALL ELECTRIC MOTORSPORTS)
Maybe at that point the Ebay computer chip will be functional along with the electric supercharger that cools the electric drive motor.
Can you imagine what could be done with a computer reprogramming?
Has anyone here ever "advanced the timing" on an electric motor? It's Crazy. You get some serious torque that way but like a gas engine you can seriously decrease the life span on the motor by doing that. BTW, thats for an old school elecreic motor with mechanical brushes. I'm sure that all the elecreic motors in the vehicles are brushless(sensor based) which means that they don't need to be serviced (regular maint.)

The hybrid motors are modern A/C brushless motors are are pretty powerful for thier size. The Honda one puts out like 20 HP, which doesn't sound like much, but given its size, it a real workhorse.
And as hybrids become more common, cars will start running on higher voltage, so the electric supercharger may be more feasable. Some tuner company in Japan (forgot which one) already has developed a turbo kit for the gas side of the Prius.
