Anybody have Nissans phone number?

I am looking for a number I can call about severe problems I am having with my car. I have an appoinment with service dept next Teusday. I gave them a description of what has been going on and I know that this is happening with the 2.5 but not so much with the 3.5. But the guy said to me "I never even heard of that", so I want to be a little proactive and contact Nissan about my problems before bringing it in.

It started with the check engine light going on. The code was P0420. The engine started having a knocking noise for the first few minutes during warm up. But I got my oil changed shortly thereafter and the knock went away. Then come 2500 miles later I am down 3 quarts of oil. The car has no power left either. The CES came back on, went back off, came back on, went back off, etc. The dealership said they can do nothing unless the code is on. They keep throwing at me, what gas are you using and are you tightening your gas cap all the way. I put nothing but 93 Oct in this car since I've owned it and I know how to put my gas cap on properly, and I have been aware of the potential gas cap problem for years.

Now between the code, engine knocking and heavy burning of oil leads me to believe that I am having a common problem with the 2.5's. It is the precat breaking up and getting sucked back into the engine and scoring the cylinder walls causing the unusually high burning of oil.

Nissan has been replacing engines because of this. I know the dealership is going to fight me tooth and nail about this so I wanted to be a little proactive, talk to Nissan before I go there so that I amy have some fire power.

Some guys on Maxima.org are having problems with the 3.5 losing oil.
Are you able to get an oil analysis? Look into that.

Here are some threads...

Any chance you still have the powertrain warranty?
