Much Better Mike! Article actually shows what we did now so that if people want to duplicate the setup it is much easier to follow.

Well given that this is the initial tune and we are still running reasonable boost we think there is more power to be had. We just want to work with JWT and make sure the ECU profile is perfect before we get carried away.

There is more to be done. The Bored TB needs to be put back on as the 252 figure was made on the stock TB, we are palnning a custom intake manifold with perhaps a larger TB worked in as we will be able to remotely locate the IACV. Right now the tranny is out of the car for some upgrades that will be covered in next months issue. And we may have to take it to the track to give you guys some1/4 times since the question has been asked countles times.

Plenty more to be done!

ITB's???

think maybe a set of ITB's are possible. maybe a setup like the GTIR. i think that you need to tune the hell out of it, and definitely some well planned fabrication, but you have taken it so far that, i figure, why not? i definitely wanna give you and mike props. i am using your approach to turboing the GA, to do that same for mine. kudos guys

before weird stuff like ITB's should be considered, its time to go inside the engine and build it so it can take more boost. Thats whats holding the GA back right now.

Somewhere in the 20 somethings the head gasket is going to be an issue.

This will be the first GA built bottom end that ive heard of so far. Are you guys gonna be going a little lower then stock compression? Im interested in seeing the amount of abuse a built bottom end on a GA can take with the right components. Im sure ill be impressed.

We are for sure going to do an intake manifold with a larger TB but not ITB's. Once that is done the car will should be making some very respectable power. After that Mike is right, we will need to build the bottom end to take more boost. Not sure what compression we will run but I honestly would like to keep it close to stock.

Note that you will probably lose power below 4000 rpm with a manifold, its best to try to increse bottom end strength and rev range, like make the engine 8000 rpm capable before spending a lot of money on a manifold.

Rods, pistons, cometic MLS head gasket and studs for the main caps and head should be done. I would contact JWT and Speak to clark about the posiblites of some sort of valve spring to increse revs as well.

O2 induction is local to me so we will be working with them on the manifold as it is something that we can get done pretty easily, it will then be out of the way for when we move forward with the bottom end.

I had contacted Cometic a while back about an MLS gasket however they needed a fairly decent ized order to warrant productionm perhaps there will be enough interest when that time rolls around.

I visited 02 indutions site and those intake manifolds he makes looks straight off a full blown racer. the air horn runners and sheet metal penulum is a definate proven hp mod. I've heard of dsm's gainning 40 or more hp from using simialar IM. Can't wait to read and learn more!..When the time comes are you going to handle the bottom end build yourself?.
