how's the stromung exhaust holding up? how much did you guys pay for it, i go to the website and only see subaru exhaust's. Why did you guys choose that one over the greddy, and the nismo? thanks, look forward to future articles.

Stromungs website is a little out dated. They've told us that there should soon be a Nissan section when their new site is finished. We choose Stromung because we've had nothing but great experiances with their products in the past. We also like the idea that they are a small company with extremly high quality standards.
Our Project 200SX 1.6 turbo has had Stromung exhaust for quite sometime and its looks like it did the day we installed it... plus the sound is great..!

do you have a sound clip, or perhaps a video of the dyno run with sound so i can check out that stromung exactly? thanks

We are aiming @ 180 hp with this car and we want to make it handle REALLY well. My brother and I are track whores We are at the road racingh cource once every month. The track allows us to do testing on my race car and his Spec V.
I promise you that you will not be disappointed by our work.
180 whp, I just don't see it. Can't wait to see what all u r going to do, but on Specs all the bolt-ons mods usually have people at 170whp.

Are we to assume that you will be adding cams (nismo or JWT) to achive these numbers? Full bolt-on setups are netting in the low 170's.
Do you have a list of planned mods to achive your goals? I am excited to see whats in store.
We are planning on getting cams installed. We are also planning on getting an ECU if/when one is available. I would like to see the engine rev to about 6700 rpm if that is safe to do. If we can get this engine to rev more, then we might get more power up top.
The CAI and the header have been installed and the write-ups submitted. We have dynoed both set-ups. We will also have a pulley installed next. The BS removal kit will follow and we will top it off with the cams

With this being your goal I would recommend that you look into the Ferrea Racing Valvtrain. I think this would assist in your goals of higher rev-band power (pending ECU of course). They are titanium and have a higher spring rate. The sotck internals on the QR25 should be good for 6700 I would think, but if your going in there for the cams may as well play it safe and change valves, springs, and retainers too. Cant wait to see the results on this car, if I were building a qr25 this would be my path too.

I do not know what cams we will use yet. If it is the JWT cams and if they come with stiffer springs and retainers, then we will use them. The ECU is the big issue here. If JWT does not come out with an ECU in time, then we might try some other route. Mike K. believe that some ECU work will give us more power. But we are geting ahead of ourselves. We still need to do the pulley (easy) and the BS removal kit (involved).
Plus the car is in bad need of a new suspension. Th stocke cannot take it much longer. My brother is a tech and drives the car a lot with about 80 lbs in the trunk. With around 50K on the ODO the suspension is showing its age.
i highly recomend the tein SS coils for track useage. a friend of mine jsut had some installed for autoX use and it handles like a dream. its really responsive and feels really stable and eager in the corners. But if you guys are building for full track use maybe go for the JIC FLT-A2, my persoanl choice if i was to build a track car
So does the addition of the AEBS header mean that they won't be going turbo eventually? I mean the AEBS is pretty expensive, and I thought it was mainly for highly tuned NA engines. I'm not saying that not going turbo is bad, I was just wondering. And I wonder what kind of power they hope to be making at the end of it all...
