Was that completely stock? a completely stock GA 5 speed is around 90 HP at the wheels... so it doesn't sound too far fetched..

The impressive thing about the GA is the torque.. on one of our old dyno test we measured 86 stock then 104.8 torque with a couple of bolt ons..a gain of almost 20... Now compare that to a a stock Civic SI: 93.5 Stock and only about 103-4 with basicially the same mods as the GA... now imagine this same comparision with a SR20... Hondas are torque weak when compared to Nissans.

NOW: remember some of this numbers when you read the upcoming Stage 1 turbo numbers in the soon to be released July issue.....

Mike,

Car was bone stock for the base run. Car was run with the OD OFF!!!

hard_charger,

I totally agree with you man. Living in Cali makes it even harder to get street legal stuff that packs some horses because of all the laws here. Plus my car is a daily driver and with cops looking to pull over just about every import out on the street with an exhaust that sounds illegal...

Well I live in So Cal as well.. and have never had a problem. It's all about respecting the street. It's simple, If you act like and ass then you will probably get pulled over...lol... and probably deserve it.. (these are general terms not about you) If your car is ricey whiney loud you also deserve to be pulled over. (loud does not = fast...lol)

I've pulled up side by side with Huntington Beach cops (known to be some of the worst in OC) nodded at them and went on my business...and that was in Project 200SX with all its Sponsor decals.

The simple fact is most things on the market are not "Street legal" per say...ie..headers, exhaust, turbo kits, etc,,, Just as the speed limit is only 55 on the freeway. Most people don't actually drive 55, but usually only the ones that abuse it get a ticket.

If you're going to upgrade certain things on your car that may not pass smog you have to be prepared to take them off for a short time to pass smog when that time comes.... Most of the parts made for our cars will pass any smog wand test, the problem is the visual... and of course the state for not being more flexable in its laws..

I can agree that the torque on the GA is impressive. When I finished my custom CAI without the header, I took it for a test drive and I left the shifter in 1st gear and it broke loose at 4,600rpm! That's with the Kumho 712 195/50/15's. Now I'm not sure how it happened, but it happened accelerating in a straight line from a dead stop! I can't wait till I get my DPR port & polished intake manifold and tb installed, and I can't wait till I put on my new generation pacesetter ceramic coated header. Hopefully everything will work together well.

Torque on my Automatic 200sx SE, GA is a joke. It takes me about 12-13 seconds to get to 60.

Do you have any mods yet? Trust me when you get some good mods you'll understand. All I have right now are: 2,500 rpm stall converter, Custom CAI, High-Flow cat, 2" mandrel exhaust, straight through muffler, plugs & wires, wire amplifier, and slightly advanced timing.

Good to finally see a dyno of an automatic, too bad it only made 80hp Oh well, at least it makes me feel better knowing it's not my fault that I can't keep up with sr20s and RSXs in AutoX

Needless to say we were extremely pleased with our results! We exceeded our goal of 150 peak hp by over 10hp. With a peak output of 162.1 whp and a 149.8 ft. lbs of torque at 4500 rpm! That's a gain of over 70 whp when compared to stock!!!!

Now, was this stage 1 kit? What PSI was this (7?)

And for the auto, since it has about 80wph equaling about 115hp. Because of the minus 10wph, since this dyno said 162.1wph, the auto would have about 152.1 right? And since about 15% is lost through the drivetrain, would the HP of the auto be about 172.5?

you're right... in a hurry to get everything up that was over looked... I'll do a little editing...

As for the auto.... that sounds about right, but you are talking about completely uncharted waters... we won't really know that naswer until someone does it..

Will Hotshot be able to create a Stage I with only the following?
Turbo Manifold
Turbo
2" Downpipe
Intake Piping
Blow Off Valve
Wastegate
Gauges
Hoses & clamps and all the necessary hookups

What about a Stage II with the following?
Front Mount Intercooler Kit (like greddy offers for hondas)
Injectors
MAF
3" Downpipe

Does the ECU definately have to be modified or will it work okay without injectors? Do we have to have injectors with a stage I just to get 30-40hp? For us automatic owners, an ecu upgrade costs a lot of money....

How's traction with those 17" rims? With an automatic, what stall speed would be required for enough traction off the line but enough of a stall to spool the turbo? For me on my B13, the widest tires I can fit are the 205/50/15's on street tires (kumho's or others).
