thanx,
Times are less acurate than Horsepower and Torque readings from a dyno. Track times can vary depending on many factors: Weather conditions, tires, driver, weight...etc... It's rare to ever see "times" on any project car, because of the above factors.
0-60... that we can give you as soon as we hook up the proper electronics to measure it accuratly.
Our first goal is to build the car... we will take it to the track for times when the time is right.

that i highly doubt

you'd be lucky to get 12 second 1/8 mile times... i should know, i have a 1.6auto.
hey mike, for those of us who couldn't watch... what happened on May3? i just stopped in to read the mag today, and was kinda disappointed that the announcement came so late!

on a more sober note... the best trap speed i've every seen on a stock 1.6auto (and don't kid yourself, bolt ons won't give it much more than .5 secs) was about 85 mph at around maybe 20 seconds. This was accurately and scientifically measured by me against a stoplight and a cute little sign on the road stating "drag racing strictly prohibited"... which is placed, coincidentally, exactly a quarter-mile from the stoplight. That's with a (regrettably stupid) apocalyptic shift from neutral at around 4k rpm. Don't try to make it shift in any higher, it will still settle at around 3k when the gear bites one or two seconds after your wheels stop squealing.
your best bet would probably be a turbo install, because our little car would need around 300+ hp to even break 13 seconds.
but then again, that's before the torque converter breaks, and peppers your poor transmission with flying shrapnel...

DuDE U GOT TO BE KIDDING RIGHT. JUST TELL ME THAT WAS A JOKE. OH MY GOD. WATCH OUT I THINK HE IS SERIOUS. And I QUOTE GEORGE CARLIN " THIS GUY IS REALLY FUCKING STUPID"
yea, the stock auto GA16 can run a low 17 (high 16 if you got a manual and can drive well). Add I/H/E and you will do about .5-.6 sec. better. Add NOS and you hava a chance for upper 14's. The only thing that's gonna get your GA16 into the 12s is a $3200 hotshot turbo system, $500 JWT ECU, and alot more time and money in tuning.
Don't hold your breath if you're lookng to run a flat 12.
