How's 1.6 DET's tranny doing?

How's the Tranny doing on project 1.6 Turbo? Usually, 233whp (~265-270@crank) is about where the SR20's Tranny starts to take a beating. Would you say the 1.6 M/T is just as strong as the 2.0 M/T?

I was just asking how project 1.6's tranny was doing.

I kno that the 2.0L's M/T usually begins to break around 250whp, since Proj 1.6 is gettin around 233whp, I was wondering if it was developing any problems.

Hey Justin you should have asked this in the Project 200sx thread. Anyways, IMO, I think it should be holding up well only because Mike isnt pushin 11psi at all times.

If you're comapring a Mustang to a Sentra, it isn't a apples to apples comparison.A more fair comparison would be the 240sx trans vs W/C T-5 (5.0 Mustang trans for those who don't know). The 240 trans is stronger than the FWD Sentra trans and it can take 350-400 hp IIRC.It's also the same trans used in the SR20DET Sylvias and the pickups.Mustang's not a bad car, it just doesn't have the sophisticated chassis the 240sx/Sylvia has and is limited as to what you can do with it to make it handle decently.

WOW! So our trannies are holding out even at 233 whp??? That really great to hear!

Now if this was an 2001 accord, I'm sure their trannies would've blown a gasket by now! LOL!
