Where exactly does the money come from?

I love NPM and practically everything it features, but sometimes I wonder: Where does all the money for the project cars come from? I mean, even when you add up just the little things from the dyno/alignment fees to the fluids/gas, it becomes a considerable number. Who pays for all of it (besides the owners of the respective project cars)?

Just curious.

Somehow, I cant help thinking you answered your own question.......I dont think they get anything other than the occasional discount....but I'm no insider.

Most of the money comes from the project owners. Some is sponsored. But the people who work for the mag are volunteering their time.

Advertising barely pays for the costs of running the sites. If you'd like to donate to the cause, just let me know

Now that sounds a little weird....haha...top secret?? haha

NPM and the sites associated with it..ie.. se-r.net, sentra.net, nissanforums.com scrap by just barely and I mean barely.

NPM project cars have some sponsorships, hence the logos on the project home pages... like any magazine project, but a lot of it is out of the pocket of the project owners. most of our cars are owned by individules and most are daily driven.

alignment fees to the fluids/gas

Those are all out of pocket......

No one with NPM makes a living or any money for the time and effort they put in...We are the truely grassroots.. believe me, even getting a sponsor to supply a part isn't free. If you consider the time, testing, writing, photograpy,...etc... nothing is free

Wow...

You guys really love your work... And don't think we all love you for it.

PS: As much as I'd like to contribute, I'm strapped for cash myself. Once I'm out of school and find a nice job in a nice big company I'll be happy to donate (though by that time I may be driving something with a rotary engine ).

I have a good job and I could easily make my car look like one of the best specV's around. I just don't feel like spending all my money on the car
