R32 in Japan

This guy on base is asking 9000 dollars for his 91 Gtr. The car has over 112000kms, and the front seats have some minor stains, and the body has a couple of scratches and dings. A few rust spots, but overall, the car looks very clean. Is this a fair price? I was thinking about offering him 6g's, but I don't want to low-ball... Any help would be appreciated!!

If the car is located here in the states, I would go for it if it is in that kind of shape.

unless it has had an engine rebuild or some thing special i would say no not at 9k.

for a car in that condition and mileage you should be looking to pay around $5500 - $6000 for that car and also figure in your costs from bringing it into the usa.

If you can afford to spend 9k go spend it on another car but if you can get it for around the prices i suggested then go for it.....just figure in that the engine and turbos may need a freshen up

I think I can get it for around that price. I plan on taking out the engine, and shipping it to my Grandfather's shop, and sending the body seperately to bypass customs. Then putting it all back together at the shop, and driving it at the track, since it will not be street legal. But once it's 25 years old, I believe it will not have to conform to Dot safety standards, thereby making it street legal. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm still doing research. Also, does the tranny have to come out as well as the engine to bypass customs??

Sorry about all the posts, but this one confused me... This was posted in Japanupdate...

1991 Nissan Skyline TypeM. Rare. Twin-turbo. All-wheel-drive. 5spd. JCI good until April 2008. Warranty good until April 2007. $4,500 (or take over $2,000 payments + $2,500 cash) Call

I thought GTR's were the only AWD Twin turbo'd engines. Never heard of the type M.
