New Baltimore member with (semi) new Frontier!
Hi all,
Found this forum searching for a solution to my warm air vents (don't worry, that's not for discussion here, will post later).
I got a nearly new 5-speed 04 Frontier XE-V6 CC Longbed early this year after rising gas prices made me trade in my 01 Dodge Ram (5.9L V8 = 11 mpg) and I just love it. Good size, good ride, plenty of room for hauling gear and kids, about the best small truck gas mileage for a V6, and looks sharp as well, especially the Pewter color.
When I called around the dealerships with my requirements, everyone's jaw dropped when I said I wanted a manual V6 4x4 CC Longbed, one even said, "you know you're looking for a needle in a haystack, right?". Well, I not only found one within 20 miles, but got an awesome price on it ($17,500 with only 25K miles). The salesman didn't believe me until I showed him the ad, and later he told me that it must have been priced as a 4x2 by mistake.
I've had it for almost 6 months now and have only added a soft cover for it (Extang Saber, excellent J-strip design, on and off in <2 minutes even in the cold winter). Heck, it came with side steps, roof-rack, bedliner, and bed extender so there wasn't anything else I wanted (so far). Too bad I got it too late to try the 4x4 in the snow...
My only complaint is the warm air from the vents, but the benefits of this truck far outweigh that small complaint if I can't figure it out. I drove my wife crazy researching the best small trucks and the Frontier had the second best gas mileage (w/in 1 mpg) but was the only truck to offer a full 6' bed with the Crew Cab option so that was a big selling point.
Looking forward to posting,
Jeff K
