i'm not sure if i'm in the right section for this, but i need help!!! my poor sentra se-r is giving me problems! i've never owned a nissan before, nor knew anyone that did, so i know nothing when it comes to my car! i'm not stupid when it comes to cars, but when it comes to this car i'm lost!

how do i check my car for codes and where can i find out what the codes mean??? can i check my car for codes if the engine light isn't on?? or was that just a stupid question??? hahaha!
now the general questions.....
my airconditioner stinks!!! i've had the dealership look at it like 5 times now and all they have done is spray something into the ventilation system and made me pay to replace my cabin filter...however, a month later, i am getting the musty smell back!!!
i am also experiencing a lag in starting my car. it's been doing it off and on now since last november. two dealerships tried to blame it on the weather, and gave me the "we weren't able to replicate the problem, so nothing is wrong." excuse. when i last took my car in for the air problem i brought up changing my sparkplugs. i purchased some prior to my visit and asked them to use those and i'll pay for the boots....they told me that since i only had 30,000 miles on the car that that for sure isn't the problem and i don't need to worry about changing that stuff until at the earliest, 60,000 miles!
any takers?????? thanks a billion to anyone that has a suggestion!!!

only way to check codes is wiht an OBD II code scanner.

no you don't need to change out the stock platinum plugs till 60k, and there are no "boots" on them.

I'd say take your car to a different dealer. if nothing gets accomplished, call 1-800-Nissan1

thanks dude!! see like i said i know nothing about my nissan!! and i hate that! the thing that sucks most is that i'm out of my factory warranty! i do have an extended maxcare warranty, but it's through chrysler...long story.
it just sucks!
