Hello my name is julie and i own a 2003 2.5S altima which i love very much.. this only happened to me 3 times now since i bought her.. sometimes when i am starting my baby and i let go of the key before she starts completely the car naturally does not start.. and when i try a second start she will not start and the starter so my husband says wizzes like crazy and nothing.. if i continue to try starting her she will finally start but it scares me some what because if i need to go now my darling car will fail me.. as i have said before this has only happend a total of 3 times and my husband does not work on cars any more since heart surgery thats why i bought a new car so he wouldnt have to fix my car... i know the starter engages but the engine spins and it does not even try to start ...sincerely julie annette
If you let go of the key too soon and the engine stalls, it puts gas into the cylinders, but doesn't burn it (called flooded). If you put the accelerator to the floor while cranking to re-start, it should spin out the unburned gas quickly and start up. Be ready to take your foot off the gas as soon as it catches.
