Defective air meter is a possible reason of stalling?
Hello everybody!
I'm a new member of Nissan Forum, so I don't know how it works. I guess that
folks exchanges their problems, gives and gets advices, and shares auto-interests.
I'm the owner of 95 Nissan Maxima for two years. It was a great vechile until recently, when all of a sudden my beauty stalled on a crossing. I did left turn on a crowdy road, so it was pretty nervous. After three attempts I was lucky to start the engine. Then there were several more stallings untill I realised that there is a problem. I found that when hot, and many minutes on the run my Nissan behaves predictably with no sign on stalling. However, if the engine isn't warmed up for 5 to 10 minutes (in summer!) I have a good chance to come to a complete stop when it's absolutely unnecessary. I addressed my problem to Willowdale Nissan dealership in Toronto. They made the diagnostics and found nothing. Perhaps because the engine was hot, and they couldn't catch the simptoms. However they supposed that possibly defective air flow meter is the reason. As it was said in terms of may be yes - may be not, I'm hesitating to buy new air flow meter
that costs some $800 CND. That is why I'm wondering if somebody knows where to buy used 95 Nissan Maxima air flow meter.
I appreciate any advice regarding my problem, especially from those guys who had the experience of fixing stalling Nissans.
